Y Factor Newcastle in Aid of Mencap!

For the second year, up to ten contestants will ‘battle it out’ for the sought-after title of ‘Y Factor’ champion 2010. Backed by a live band from Newcastle and Gateshead Colleges, contestants will be critiqued by a panel of judges including Tony Chapman-Wilson, a vocal coach from Newcastle College’s Performance Academy and Aaron Bayley, a finalist on the original ‘Pop Idol’. Contestants are already confirmed from Eversheds, Bishop Skinner, Benfield Motor Group and Ward Hadaway.

After the winner’s encore the audience will also have the pleasure of being entertained by the fantastic 55 degrees band; featuring senior north east business professionals David Haley, John Cuthbert, Peter Rea, Ian Lawson, Andrew Dixon, Gary Lovell and Laura Robinson, blasting out rock and pop classics such as the Kings of Leon, the Beatles and more. The event aims to raise £15,000 for the charity.
