BHF Peak District Mountain Bike Challenge 2012 for British Heart Foundation
Location: Hope Valley
This is a technical and challenging mountain bike event with technical, physical challenges and some remote cycling- only the Adventure Route is suitable for relative new comers to mountain biking.
Adventure route: (approx 15 miles.24km) a great introduction to the Peak District. Although it’s the shortest route, it provides some technical rocky trails, big hills and great views.
Advanced route: (approx 24 miles/39km) This route is suited to more experienced riders wanting to ride some of the more technical trails, taking in some of the well known Peak District mountain bike trails. Expect big hills and loose rocks.
Extreme route: (approx 34 miles/55km) For very fit and competent riders only, this is the ultimate off road biking experience. Riders separate from the Advanced Route to climb tougher hills, fast technical descents and Ladybower reservoir. With 34 miles of steep hills and technical terrain, this is a tough challenge.
Ultimate Route (approx 39 miles/63km) For very fit and competent riders only, this is the ultimate off road biking experience. This route extends the Extreme Route by an extra 6 miles to climb higher and experience fast technical descents and great views of Ladybower reservoir.
