Annual Charity Motorbike Rally London 2 Tbilisi
Location: London-Tbilisi-Bahrain
The ‘London2 Motorbike Rallies’ are an annual sporting event founded by Levan Vasadze and Lord Clanwilliam. The concept originates from 2007,2008 and 2009 rallies travelling from London to Tbilisi in Georgia.
The Rally’s primary aim is raise money for charity. This is supported with an ethos of giving the participants the opportunity to ‘open the mind, free the spirit and test nerves and driver skills’
The rally traditionally encompasses a demanding and adventurous journey across Europe, ending in Tbilisi at Bagrationi 1882, a beautiful champagne factory located on the outskirts of the city.
The rally distance is over 9,500 kilometres and will take in the region of 20 days, much of it on “testing road conditions”
The rally is not a race but a “team ride” and the riders drive without the assistance of a back up team, although we might have our own engineer joining us as a team member.....
Overnight acommodation depends on where the day’s ride ends.....it could just as easily be a 7 star hotel in a European City hotel or a sleeping bag and tent in the empty quarter desert area of Saudi Arabia
This year however, the rally is adding a second stage after Tbilisi. The team will drive through Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and finish on the archipelago of Bahrain
The route is not “set in stone”. Each morning we set a target for laying up that evening. Safety of riders comes before distance covered.
Saphekhurebi
Saphekhurebi does incredible work in Georgia. Their mission is to help the vulnerable, the disabled, the homeless and the underprivileged in society.
Since its establishment they have touched the lives of many and improved the quality of life of these socially unprotected groups providing medical care, food, shelter and education. Further to this, the charity will buy respiratory apparatus with the donated money and will give it to the hospitals for free. Frequently, in Georgia newborn children have respiratory problems. To save their lives doctors need the respiratory apparatus. Nowadays there are only 8 apparatus in Tbilisi. This number is often insufficient comparing to the newborn patients. A lot of children died only because of the lack of respiratory apparatus.

Hugo Rutland Memorial Fund
The Hugo Rutland Memorial Fund was created in 2005 after the tragic death of Hugo in a drowning accident whilst on holiday with his family.
Claire Rutland, Hugo`s widow, founded the HRMF to create a capital fund from which income could be used to provide financial support for parents of school children finding themselves in unexpected difficulties.
This year they have launched a major campaign to maintain the momentum of the HRMF and to increase its capital from £230k in 2008 to £500k by 2010 and to £2m by 2015.
