To provide assistance to students from overseas during the last six months of their postgraduate doctorate study in the UK; to provide assistance to academic, educational or other organisations concerned with music, drama, dance and the arts; the preservation of buildings and their contents and the repair and conservation of church furniture (preference is given to buildings and objects of the Georgian period); assistance to conservation, including museums; the support of charitable activities associated with the preservation of rural England; and the promotion of amity and good relations between Britain and third world or former 'Iron Curtain' countries by financing visits to such countries by teachers or other appropriate persons
