To increase awareness and understanding of brain injury and its consequences; To initiate activites and campaigns which will reduce the incedence of brain injury and improve services for people with brain injury, their families and carers; To provide information and support for people with brain injuries, their relatives and carers and professional people; To promote improved approaches to brain injury screening, acute care, assessment, rehabilitation and community re-integration; To assist people with brain injuries to return to independent living; To support those with brain injury so that they attain the highest possible quality of life; To work with existing Headway Groups and Branches and help establish new Groups and Branches throughout the UK
