Aims & Objectives:
Every day 10 families are told that their child has cancer. Diagnosis often comes as a shock. Treatment usually starts straightaway and can last up to three years. As the children’s cancer charity, CLIC Sargent is there… with clinical, practical and emotional support, every step of the way. For example: * Specialist nurses and key workers to care for children in hospital and at home * Free accommodation near hospitals so families can stay together during treatment * Free national helpline for anyone needing information. We help the whole family cope with the trauma of cancer, life after treatment and, in some cases, with bereavement. Through campaigning we aim to represent children, young people and their families and make changes that affect the lives of others.
