To initiate and support research which aims to discover the causes, new treatments and methods of preventing breast cancer, and ultimately to eradicate the disease; to establish the first centre in the UK wholly dedicated to breast cancer research (in partnership with the Institute of Cancer Research) and through this bringing together leading scientists to focus on the disease; to raise awareness of breast cancer and the need for quality research; to encourage the rapid transfer of all scientific findings to the practical benefit of people with breast cancer
