Although the latest figures suggest the UK has climbed out of recession, charities face an uncertain new decade and are understandably nervous of experimentation. However, domestic and global economic collapses have, in the past, stimulated innovative behaviour, which rearranges the status quo irretrievably – and sometimes for the better.
