Karen Phull outlines the changes in store for the planning system following the arrival of the new government.
It’s all change for planning; the new government brings changes in social, economic and environmental priorities. The green paper published by the Conservative Party in February 20101 outlined sweeping changes to the planning system. Not all of these were reflected in the Coalition Programme published in May or in the Queen’s speech, leaving the planning system in limbo.
