Peter Hollins has been CEO of the British Heart Foundation since 2003. After graduating from Oxford in chemistry, he joined ICI in 1973 and undertook a series of increasingly senior roles in marketing and then general management. After three years in the Netherlands where he was general manager of ICI Resins BV, he was appointed chief operating officer of European Vinyls Corporation, Brussels in 1992. He returned in 1998 to the UK as CEO of British Energy where he remained until 2001. Married with two adult daughters, he spends the working week in London and weekends at home in the New Forest.
