What made you choose the law?
I had it drummed into me since I was a little girl that everyone had a talent and that all you had to do was to find it, hone it and then use it for the benefit of others. The law enabled me to do that. I also wanted a profession where my integrity would not have to be compromised.

Baroness Scotland was appointed Attorney General in June 2007 from the Home Office, where she was also the ministerial adviser on legal affairs. After her law degree she was called to the Bar in 1977, received Silk in 1991 and became Bencher in 1997. She is a Dame of the Sacred Military Contantinian Order of Saint George and is a member of the Thomas More Society and the Lawyer's Christian Fellowship. She was founder member and former Head of Chambers of 1 Gray's Inn Square. Baroness Scotland was created a peer in 1997 and was raised to the Privy Council in July 2001. She married in 1985 and has two sons. She was born in Domenica
