Near and far
Leading remotely is a challenge many INGO managers have had to deal with and there is an art to being present while absent. Caroline Stearman and Alex Swarbrick share their findings
Why does it happen…the voices of influential people ringing in our ears even when they’re not with us? We picture how they would respond in the situation we’re facing. We find ourselves rehearsing what they might say and we chuckle (or grimace!) recalling what’s so important to them that it is infusing our present with their presence – despite their absence.
