The simple act of volunteering and ‘giving something back’ may not be so simple after all. While there are millions of people across the UK who provide valuable help on a voluntary basis, there are certain practical procedures that should be adopted to ensure that this resource actually helps the charity rather than risks holding it back. Volunteer managers and HR professionals need to adopt frameworks to make their volunteer involvement safe and rewarding for all.
