New study will allow non profits to see how they measure up against their peers
A new benchmarking study launched for the third sector aims to afford a better understanding of performance and risk management through the recession.
Finance Count 2010, co-produced by The Charity Finance Director’s Group (CFDG) and management and HR consultancy Agenda Consulting, is a tailor-made survey providing highlights of performance on over 200 key measures and a comparison of participants’ performance with seven to twenty peers of their choice.
‘The 2009 PKF and CFDG Risk Survey, published in September, highlighted the fact that charities have planned well in the short term and are coping with the recession,’ said CFDG CEO, Keith Hickey. ‘But with difficult conditions continuing charities need to plan more strategically and for the long term.’
Specific areas and hoped for outcomes covered in the study include:
- early warning of potential issues;
- reassurance on what is working well;
- help in determining priorities and setting targets;
- evidence to support change;
- new insights on good practice; and
- an enhanced ability to report back to management and trustees.
