One of the phrases we hear very frequently in organisations today is that ‘change is the only constant’. Nowhere is this more clearly the case than in the not-for-profit sector. Charities today are continually being forced to react, reform and re-engineer themselves in order to respond proactively and nimbly to the frequent political, economic and social upheavals that can affect not only their funding and support, but also their requirements for skills and talent. All of this can be very unsettling, not only for you as leaders of the organisation, but also for your staff and volunteers who are required to keep it running smoothly despite these changes.
