Make no mistake, these are very extraordinary times. A year ago anyone forecasting that interest rates in the US, UK and Europe would be heading towards zero or that some of our leading banks would have the government as their largest shareholder would have been dismissed as a crank. It is, therefore very important to review financial plans in order to take proper account of this new, rather tough environment.
