Lindsay Boswell gets out his crystal ball and shares his predictions for a new fundraising landscape
Over the last 10 years fundraising and the sector in general have had things pretty much our own way. There has been lots of growth and plenty of opportunity to innovate, experiment and develop. Some say that we have grown a bit ‘flabby’ and that the recession is a good time to review things, check and change practice and generally reinvent the way that we operate. While I am not sure about the ‘flabby’ accusation I do think that fundraising will change, and change dramatically, over the next five years. In this article I am going to try and identify what and where some of those changes might be. Please don’t take these as lateral predictions but more as thought provoking ideas about how we need to keep our beady eyes on change…it is the only certainty there is!
