Fundraising Standards Board announces new development phase
Alan Clayton’s closing remarks at the Institute of Fundraising National Convention in June alluded to feedback he had received that the FRSB needed to ‘deliver fast’.
On 15 August, the body announced a new phase of development which includes more membership services, such as workshops on complaints handling, more increased public awareness, and the development of a process on how to handle complaints about non-members. Despite the potential threat of state intervention if self regulation fails, membership levels have remained at around 800. Launched in 2006, the Cabinet Office and Scottish Executive have provided funding for the first five years, after which time the scheme has to become self-financing by its members. To do so it needs more members and more member-driven funding.
