The year 2006/07 was one of considerable upheaval in the charity funding environment. It opened with the establishment of the new Office of the Third Sector (OTS) aimed at strengthening sector capacity, saw publication of the OTS major review, The future of the Third Sector in Social and Economic Regeneration, and ended as the first signs of the turbulence in the financial markets heralded forthcoming economic recession. This article previews a new report on annual results for the UK’s largest fundraising charities, Charity Market Monitor (CMM).
