Francis Maude MP has been shadow minister for the Cabinet Office since July 2007 and is member of parliament for Horsham. He was first elected to the House of Commons in the 1983 general election, eventually becoming financial secretary to the Treasury under John Major from 1990 to 1992. After losing his seat in the 1992 election he became man-aging director of Morgan Stanley from 1993 to 1997 and chaired the government’s deregulation task force from 1994 to 1997. After the 2005 general election he became chairman of the Conservative Party. He is married with five children.
