Anne Moynihan asks whether one size fits all when it comes to governance and regulation for charities.
If the government is to turn its vision of the ‘big society’ into reality then making it easier to run voluntary and community organisations is an extremely good place to start. Cutting red tape and reducing bureaucracy will be welcomed by the million trustees throughout the country who primarily serve their communities for no personal benefit and who are, in fact, the backbone of civil society.
