Family foundation donors and Big Society: will they, won’t they?
As they gear up to a major shift from big to small government, ministers have made clear their expectation that wealthy philanthropists will play their part in Big Society, helping to meet needs and fill any gaps which arise from public expenditure savings. This was spelt out by DMCS secretary Jeremy Hunt’s comment in the Daily Telegraph on 15 July that “People who have made money are part of the Big Society vision.”
