Advising philanthropists without borders
New Philanthropy Capital has published a report on supporting charities in the developing world: Philanthropists without borders.
This was developed in response to problems donors encounter when giving internationally. The lack of independent information on charities in developing countries and the vast scale of human suffering and environmental degradation can be overwhelming and off-putting. More than £1bn was given to international causes by UK donors in 2006 and 16 per cent of civil society income in developing countries comes from philanthropy.
