Our History

Stenham Asset Management has been active in fund management for over 25 years focusing exclusively on delivering absolute returns achieving a multiple award-winning track record. We provide market leading solutions for institutions and charities, including both discretionary portfolios and funds. Total Assets as at August 2011 are US$ 3.2 billion.

Stenham was founded in 1901 and over time, it has moved from helping its private clients create wealth through trade finance and corporate finance to helping them preserve and grow their wealth in a highly disciplined and risk-averse way. Stenham has diversified from its private client base to institutions and charities who seek similar stable performance to meet their defined liabilities. Today 65% of the assets are from institutions including charities, the balance from the original founding families.

We have an experienced and stable team, the key members of which have been together since 1997. The team is committed to our strategic approach and a significant amount of members' own investable funds is managed by Stenham.

Our Investment Philosophy

Our investment style is conservative with a focus on capital preservation and minimising downside risk. We aim to achieve consistent absolute returns with low volatility through a combination of active strategy allocation and skilful manager selection. The portfolios invest in a range of assets, capital instruments, markets and strategies, which capture major market movements through the skills of the individual third party managers. Our focus is to avoid extreme loss while finding managers that deliver alpha.

Our Client Reporting

Stenham has a loyal client base of many years standing and has attracted new business by consistently providing innovative investment solutions along with personal and tailored client service to sophisticated investors.

We pride ourselves on providing our investors with detailed, bespoke and transparent reporting with direct access to our investment teams.

The main point of contact for our charity clients is Harry Wulfsohn, a Director of Stenham Advisors Plc, who is supported by a team of Client Service Executives.

You will have access to the investment team either by phone at any time or via our monthly conference call. Harry or a member of his team will also be available for quarterly meetings supported by a portfolio manager or analyst.
