Royal London Asset Management

Background

Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) is one of the UK's leading fund management companies for the charity sector. Our experienced team of investment specialists manages over £37bn of assets and we pride ourselves on the breadth and quality of the investment options we offer. As an independently managed part of the Royal London Group, which was established in 1861, we benefit from the strong backing of the UK's largest mutual company while retaining the external perspective of a commercial fund management business.

Our approach

We wholeheartedly believe in adding value through active fund management and are widely recognised for the wealth of experience we bring to managing our clients' funds. Our focus is firmly set on achieving the best possible returns in a risk controlled manner for the charities who entrust us with their assets.

Investing assets on behalf of charities requires an appreciation of this sector as well as expert knowledge of our own sector. Our success is based on truly understanding the investment objectives of charities we manage assets for and using our in-depth market knowledge to exploit the market opportunities that will help us meet these requirements. We believe that the experience and skills of our fund management team set us apart, giving us an edge in a highly competitive market. Quite simply, by exploring parts of the market that others often overlook, our fund managers are able to add value to your portfolios.

Areas of expertise

Being a leading manager of charity assets, we offer a range of investment options across all the major asset classes:

• Fixed income

RLAM's fixed income team has developed a reputation as one of the UK's leading managers of sovereign and corporate bonds. We take pride in the strong track record we have developed, helping us win a number of industry awards. Our wide range of fixed income investment options includes a variety of government and corporate bond portfolios as well as an ethical bond fund.

• Equities

Our award-winning equity team offers a wide range of funds from across the market spectrum. Our scale gives us full access to companies' senior management teams, while at the same time we can offer the specialist equity product range of a boutique fund management team. As well as our active fund range, we also offer a number of passively managed tracker funds which are priced very competitively.

• Property

RLAM is a key player in the UK commercial property market. With over £2bn of property assets under management and a highly respected team, we have a record of delivering strong performance for our clients. Our property fund, the Royal London Property Fund, is the UK's first Property Authorised Investment Fund (PAIF) and boasts first quartile performance over 1, 3, 5 and 10 year time horizons.

As well as a range of pooled investment products, we also provide bespoke solutions to meet your specific objectives.

Royal London Cash Management

Background

Royal London Cash Management (RLCM) and our Guernsey-based sister company, Royal London Asset Management C.I. (RLAM C.I.), are two of the leading providers of cash management services. Jointly managing around £7bn of cash assets for over 275 institutions, including more than 80 charities, we manage money for clients ranging in size from £1m to over £300m.

Our approach

Irrespective of their size, all of our clients have similar primary objectives for their cash: safety, liquidity and performance.

We believe a well diversified segregated cash portfolio consisting of good quality banking names will deliver the combination of security and liquidity that our clients need. In addition, because we undertake the entire process of placing, settling and reporting of cash transactions, we can be viewed as an additional resource for a client's own internal treasury function.
