Our credentials

Over 800 charities entrust £1.6 billion of funds to us, covering a wide range of charity sizes and
charitable areas within the sector (as at 31 December 2011). We endeavour to work alongside our scope of charity clients to better understand their situation, their requirements and to provide suitable solutions and support.

Rathbones evolved into an investment management firm through the stewardship of the Rathbone family wealth. Having remained independently owned, we have been able to remain true to the ethos built by the family based on Heritage, stability, stewardship and Trust. With these values we aim to forge strong, long term relationships with charities.

Meeting your charity's needs

Rathbones manages all charity investment portfolios on an individual, segregated
basis in line with a strategy that is agreed with each charity. You will have direct
access to your investment professionals, not a relationship manager, for all aspects of the management and administration of your portfolio. We do not artificially
restrict the investment universe from which we select investments and, crucially,
we do not use a restricted list of in-house funds. We also offer ongoing support to charities in the form of trustee training, collaboration and networking opportunities.

How we approach investment

Our Rathbone Investment Process guides our investment managers'
decision-making, however their judgement, expertise and knowledge
of a charity's individual requirements, remain paramount. We believe in
pragmatism, using a variety of funds with varying investment styles and
philosophies. Our investment choices are sensitive to market movements,
whether they are individual, equities, bonds or funds.
