Background
Cheviot Asset Management is a member of the London Stock Exchange, authorised and regulated by the FSA. Founded in 1983, it originally operated as part of Kingston Smith, the leading chartered accountants. Cheviot was re-launched in May 2006.
Ownership of the company now rests with a Limited Liability Partnership, a practice that has become increasingly common amongst successful modern investment houses, and it ensures that the direction of the firm will remain in the hands of practitioners. The acquisition provided an immediate, regulated base for a growing team, initially centred on the professionals responsible for the success of Laing & Cruickshank.
Cheviot now takes in 8 teams with over 50 investment professionals and total staff of over 100. It includes a devoted, specialist, Charities department with over one hundred years experience, and we are confident that our charitable involvement will continue to grow.
