Cazenove Capital has been investing assets on behalf of charity clients for over 60 years and was one of the first firms to establish a dedicated charities team. We are an independent, client focused business, providing specialist investment management and high quality investment advice.

Today we are one of the UK's leading charity fund managers. The charities we advise include the religious, medical, educational and social welfare sectors amongst others.

We are aware of the increasing demands on charitable organisations and trustees and it is therefore our aim to act as your trusted adviser by assisting in the design of appropriate investment strategies. In addition, we give advice on asset allocation, risk management, capital preservation, corporate governance, socially responsible investment and trustee legislation.

Services for Charities

Many of our charities appreciate the performance, low cost and administrative benefits of using pooled funds. At Cazenove Capital we have the broadest range of Charity Commission approved Common Investment Funds (CIFs) covering bonds, equities (UK growth and income), hedge funds and property (please see below for further details). In addition, where there are sufficient assets to diversify the Trustees' risk in a cost effective way, we can invest on a segregated basis.

CIFs are professionally managed funds in which investors can purchase units. It is not necessary to be a full discretionary client of Cazenove Capital to invest in these.

The Income Trust for Charities (ITC)

The ITC aims to provide a high and secure level of income through investing in UK government and other fixed interest securities, or derivatives thereof.

The Growth Trust for Charities (GTC)

The GTC aims to provide long-term capital growth by investing in UK equities.

The Equity Income Trust for Charities (EITC)

The EITC primarily aims to provide a high and steady level of income by investing in UK equities. The secondary target is to provide capital growth.

The Absolute Return Trust for Charities (ARTC)

The ARTC is designed to enable charities to invest for absolute returns through a fund of hedge funds. As with the other CIFs, it has been authorised by the Charity Commission and is the first such fund available to charities. The ARTC invests in a well diversified portfolio of hedge funds. The investment objective is to provide an absolute return, after costs, over rolling five year periods. We are advised on this fund by leading hedge fund specialists, Fauchier Partners.

The Multi Strategy Property Trust for Charities (MSPTC)

The MSPTC aims to provide charities with a strategic allocation to a diversified portfolio of primarily UK commercial property assets. Through the implementation of stock selection and asset management skills, the Trust will be underpinned by an attractive and stable income stream, combined with the prospect of capital growth. It has a target distributable yield of at least 5% and an absolute return objective. We are advised on this fund by Protego Real Estate Investors.

Socially Responsible Investing
We have direct and practical experience of managing charities with ethical considerations. Our charity team and investment process is mindful of a company's social, environmental and ethical policy record, which is one of many factors we take into account when considering its suitability as an investment.
