Who are we?

Price & Company is a growing firm of Chartered Accountants and Registered Auditors based in Eastbourne, East Sussex. The firm has 5 partners, with approximately 6 qualified staff and 20 trainees and support staff. We are a member of Chartergroup, a national network of accountancy firms who adhere to rigorous standards, and which provides access to national specialists and a wealth of experience. We are also a member of the 2020 Consultancy Group and The Practice Network, who are national consultancy organisations providing an array of consultancy advice and information.

What services do we provide?

We provide audit, accountancy and other services to many organisations both within and outside the charity sector. We have acted for a number of these organisations since their creation and have built up close working relationships. The majority of our clients have a turnover of between £0.5m and £5m per annum. We act for a large number of charitable organisations, housing associations and numerous not-for-profit entities throughout the practice drawing on centralised skills.

We believe that our efficient audit approach enables us to provide a cost-effective service. We aim to provide constructive advice from the audit and any other work we carry out, concentrating on areas of genuine importance to the Charity. We can provide objective and clear advice on management and control systems to ensure that they generate reliable information. We provide one main point of contact so that communication is efficient and our clients have a quick response to any questions which arise during the year.

Through our association with charities and educational establishments, we have accumulated specialist knowledge of the issues facing this sector. In addition to routine compliance work, we have provided assistance to charities on various matters including:-

• Corporate Governance and internal controls.

• The development of comprehensive management information systems including budgeting, cash flow forecasting and financial reporting.

• Advice and assistance on taxation strategy and, in particular, looking at the interaction of charitable status and corporation tax and the use of wholly-owned subsidiary companies.

• The minimisation of VAT costs through the use of available legitimate arrangements.

Why choose us?

We have established a reputation for integrity and professional competence over fifty years, of which we are extremely proud and which we are committed to maintain. Personal, quality service to clients is the most important factor influencing all our decisions relating to the development of our business and it has guided us through our continuing programme of expansion. The vast majority of our new clients are recommended by existing clients and other professional firms, including banks, legal advisers and local enterprise agencies. Our reputation is our best advertisement.
