Background

The company was set up in 2003 to offer VAT advisory services to entities across all sectors of business including other professional organisations that may not have in house specialists and to be specialists in the not for profit sector. We are observer members of the Charity Finance Directors Group and the Charity Tax Reform Group and hence are well placed to be aware of the issues facing the sector.

Services

We have considerable experience from specialising in the charity and not for profit sectors and aim to provide you with clear, understandable, yet innovative solutions.

We can provide guidance and assistance on all VAT matters affecting charities, such as membership subscriptions, education and conferences, admissions to cultural events, methods of apportioning VAT incurred on purchases and the VAT reliefs that may be available. We set out below some of the more common areas that we have advised on.

The VAT liability of activities and income
Business/non business and partial exemption methods
Zero rate reliefs
Property construction and transactions
VAT group registration
Training staff and providing VAT manuals
Health checks and VAT office visits
Capital Goods Scheme adjustments
Local Authority Contracts

Our clients

Our client base includes charities of all sizes and activities but we are also very proud to be providing support and advice to many of the large national charities who have a diversity of activities and issues.
